You can have fresh flowers most of the weeks...

If you are anything like me then you will also agree with me when I say that fresh flowers all over your home makes everything feel more bright! I LOVE fresh flowers... and not only in one spot, but ALL over the place... The only bad thing is that... it gets expensive. So, my first alternative was to pick from my very own knock out rose bush... but, then it died... blah...SO... here is the next and always around alternative to having fresh flowers all around your house practically all the time...
I have learned to scope out Kroger's discount flowers every time I walk through the doors... whether it is to pick up something I forgot or my normal grocery shopping plunge... and I have found that only on few occasions that they do not have a major discount section of flowers that are too old to sell (this doesn't mean they are ugly... it just means they aren't worth $10 anymore). Therefore, I buy a bundle of them (usually they are anywhere from $1-$3), and place them in mason jars ALL over my house... it just brightens my day when I see them!

This week I found these flowers and put them with some greenery to add a little something to it. The total cost for flowers all over my house this week was $2.50.

Go to your local store NOW and see if you can't make your flower dream come true!

We Went to the Farm...

Above Picture is Grandma, Papa, and my mother-in-law Cheryl.

I have fallen in love with the Hampton family, my mother-in-laws side of the family. I am so thankful for family and the moments we can to spend with them.

My mother-in-law, Cheryl flew in from N.C this past Thursday. We then left Thursday evening to go to The Farm.

Let me tell you about The Farm... there is no internet, no cell phone service, no cable, and the nearest Walmart is apx. 20 min. away... So, you ask, what do you do on The Farm? Glad you asked!
We stay up late... we play liverpool rummy (til Parker gets mad)... we experience true relaxation... we talk... we swing on their old porch swing and listen to the hummingbirds and the frogs croak in the woods... we sit and listen as PaPa tells us stories from the past and watch as Grandma stands over the stove all day to prepare the most scrumptious meal... we sit around and look through old scrapbooks or talk about how to make a quilt that grandma had made... we sleep in til however late we desire (even though the floor above us begins creaking as soon as PaPa and Grandma wake up)...we might take a shower while we are there... and we might make one trip outside of the 480 acre property.... but, we most certainly will take walks and watch as the puppies roam around freely with nearly nothing in site... we also will most certainly make memories, laugh, and maybe even cry (from laughing so hard)... oh and if you are Diesel (Robyn and Josh's dog)- you may get sprayed by a skunk... sound relaxing? It is, and very much so priceless.

I just needed to share that with you today...

Lately...

Lately I have been busy.... I finished my finals and then I hit the ground running trying to plan craft shows and all kinds of good stuff for the summer break. In the mean time I started trying to find furniture that would be a good re-sale. I love re-furnishing furniture... along with many other things... and I figured since I also love yard selling... I should make it another hobby!

In the mean time my friend Brittany connected me with a co-worker who was in urgent need of a antiqued white dresser (Keep watch at the bedroom page for details to come)... this was a fun project! Thanks Brittany for the referral... you can check out her awesome blog here.

Then... I found some awesome furniture at a yard sale... for a total of $45... this included 2 bed stands, a 1920's antique dresser, and a coffee table! What a steal... so we have been busy refurnishing those pieces to put in our bedroom... stay tuned for those upcoming post.

I am a little boggled though... I have a dresser and need help with decorating the top of it... any ideas?

I am loving summer already!
